To trail safely and effectively, you’ll need the right equipment. Below is everything required for both you and your dog.

Harness

We recommend using a harness dedicated solely to Mantrailing so your dog learns the association with work. Choose a Y-shaped harness that allows free movement of the shoulders and doesn’t restrict breathing when the nose is down. Avoid anti-pull harnesses—your dog will pull when tracking.

Long Line

Attached to the harness during trailing, the long line offers control while allowing freedom to search.
